Privacy policy
We run a reading site. There is no account to create, nothing to log in to, and no reason for us to know who you are — so this policy is shorter than most.
Who is responsible
This policy covers the website bitrefill.promo, operated as an independent editorial project. For any question about this policy or about data, write to contact@bitrefill.promo.
We are not affiliated with Bitrefill (Airfill Prepaid AB) or with any exchange or brand mentioned on this site. This policy says nothing about how they handle your data — for that you need their own policies.
What we collect
If you only read the site: nothing you give us directly. There is no account, no newsletter signup form, no comment section and no profile. We do not ask for your name, your email or your wallet address.
If you email us: your email address and whatever you write, kept for as long as needed to deal with the matter and to keep a record of corrections we have made. We do not add correspondents to any mailing list, because we do not operate one.
Server logs. Like any website, ours is served by a host that records technical request data — IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp — for security and to keep the site running. These are standard access logs, retained briefly, and not used to build a profile of you.
Outbound links, and what they mean for you
This site links out a great deal — to Bitrefill's own documentation, to regulators, to news reporting, and to exchanges. Some of those links are commercial: if you open an account with a service we link to, we may be paid. That is how this research is funded, and we say so on our about page as well as here.
Practically, this means two things. First, when you follow a link you leave our site and the destination's privacy policy applies, not ours. A commercial link may pass a referral identifier so the destination knows the visit came from us; it does not tell them anything about you that your own visit does not.
Second, we cannot see what you do after you click. We do not receive your account details, your identity documents, your balance or your transaction history from any service we link to. If an exchange verifies your identity, that data goes to them and never passes through us.
Cookies
The site is built as static pages and does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser may store ordinary technical items — such as your preference for light or dark appearance, which is read from your own system setting rather than stored by us. Because we do not use cookies that require consent under the ePrivacy rules, you will not find a consent banner here, and that is deliberate rather than an oversight.
Your rights
If you are in the EU, the EEA or the UK, the General Data Protection Regulation gives you rights over personal data concerning you: access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection, and data portability. If you are in another jurisdiction, comparable rights may apply under local law.
In our case the practical scope is narrow, because the only personal data we hold is email correspondence you chose to send. To ask what we hold, or to have it deleted, write to contact@bitrefill.promo and we will deal with it. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority if you are unhappy with how we have handled a request.
Children
This site is written for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. Note separately that gift cards and payment products are frequently used to fund children's accounts, and the platforms involved impose their own age requirements — that is between you and them.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS with the canonical host bitrefill.promo (requests to the www host and to plain
HTTP are redirected). Standard security headers are applied. Because we hold almost no personal data, the realistic
worst case for a visitor is very limited — an argument for minimal data collection generally, and one we make on our
coverage of platform terms too.
Please do not send us gift card codes, private keys, seed phrases or identity documents. We have no use for them and no reason to ask. Anyone requesting them in our name is impersonating us.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially — for instance if we introduce analytics — we will update this page and change the date below before the change takes effect. There is no version history to consult, so if the specifics matter to you, save a copy.
