How this hub works
Bitrefill advertises 8,000+ digital products, but that figure counts the same brand once per country and once per denomination. The genuinely useful catalogue is a few hundred brands, and demand concentrates hard on a couple of dozen. Buying a gift card with crypto: the two-minute flow
The mechanics are genuinely simple, which is why Bitrefill's Trustpilot score is what it is. The complexity is all in two decisions, and both happen before you pay.
Set the country selector first. Bitrefill filters its entire catalogue by the country in the top corner, and the prices and products change when you switch it. Set it to the country of the account you will redeem into — not the country you are sitting in, if those differ.
Read the product name, not just the brand. "Amazon.com" and "Amazon.de" are different products. "Steam USD" and "Steam EUR" are different products. The brand logo is identical and the code is not interchangeable.
Divide before you commit. Listed price over face value. Par is fine, 1.05 is a 5% tax, 1.10 or more means check another region or another platform. This single division has saved us more money than every promo code and cashback rate on this site combined — see the fees page for the numbers.

Which brands are priced fairly
Bitrefill charges no visible fee on gift cards. Its margin lives inside the listed price, and the variation between brands is the single most important thing to understand about this platform.

The structural reason is distribution economics. Brands that treat gift cards as a marketing channel sell them to distributors at a genuine discount, so a reseller can price at par and still profit — sometimes even fund cashback. Brands with no interest in paying for distribution sell close to face value, leaving a reseller only one way to make money. Amazon, Google and Apple sit in the first group not because they are generous but because their customers price-check reflexively. Regional gaming storefronts sit in the second.
What else is in the catalogue
The seven pages above cover the clusters that carry almost all the search demand, but the catalogue is genuinely broad and some of the less obvious corners are the most useful.
Grocery and everyday retail is where the real "living on crypto" use case lives, and it is market-specific: Lidl, Rewe and Aldi in Germany, Carrefour and Fnac across parts of Europe, Walmart and Target in the US. These are also where the higher cashback rates tend to appear, since supermarkets and general retailers treat gift cards as a footfall instrument.
Marketplace credit beyond Amazon — eBay, AliExpress, Shein and regional equivalents — behaves like Amazon: priced close to par, strictly region-locked, and boring in the good sense.
Prepaid Visa and Mastercard products sit awkwardly between gift cards and the Bitrefill Card. They are single-load, region-restricted card products rather than a reloadable account, and they are frequently confused with the card in searches. Read the product page carefully: a "virtual prepaid Visa USA" is a gift card, not the Bitrefill Card, and it has its own geographic limitations.

The five mistakes that cost real money
Every complaint we have read about buying gift cards with crypto reduces to one of these. All five are avoidable in under a minute.
One: buying the wrong storefront. The expensive one, because it is a total loss rather than a partial one, and the refund policy does not cover a working code you cannot use. Two: not dividing. Paying 13% over face value because the price looked reasonable in isolation. Three: paying with on-chain Bitcoin for a small card, handing several dollars to miners on a $10 purchase. Four: hoarding unredeemed codes in an inbox, which is both a security risk and a collision with the 12-month freeze. Five: reaching for a VPN when a region mismatch appears, converting a card-sized problem into an account-sized one.

Do Bitrefill gift cards work worldwide?
Almost none of them do. Nearly every digital gift card is tied to one storefront in one currency: a USD Amazon.com code will not load on Amazon.de, and a US Steam card requires a US account region. Bitrefill sells separate products per country for exactly this reason, and its terms prohibit using a VPN to get around it.
Can I buy a gift card as a present for someone abroad?
Yes, provided you buy the region that matches their account, not yours. Set Bitrefill's country selector to their country, buy that storefront's product, and send them the code privately. This is one of the genuinely good uses of the platform — sending spendable value across a border in seconds.
Do gift cards bought with crypto expire?
Two clocks. Sealed products freeze after 12 months of inactivity under Bitrefill's terms, with unfreezing at its discretion. Once unsealed, the issuing brand's expiry rules apply instead — anywhere from never to twelve months. Redeem promptly and neither applies.
